After overnight rain, threatening skies and the uncertainty around the
latest covid restrictions, many punters were a little apprehensive about
coming out to December''s Hamilton Classics Car Meet at the Classics Museum.
After a slow start the car steadily rolled in during the morning and
the final turnout was great. It was good to see with everyone enjoying
themselves and catching up with friends after 3 months of lockdown.
The JukeBox Diner car of the day was awarded to a 1993 Suzuki
Cappuccino BSL508. Classics Museum prizes were awarded as follows:
Runner up prize went to a very original 1977 Mini IB342. Best decorated car
wento to a 1950s Ford Prefect ACD137. Lady owner of a classic car went
to the owner of a 1938 Chrysler called Miss Molly, and furthest travelled
prize went to Colyn and Dawn Roberts.
Another very enjoyable Classics car Meet with lots to look forward to
in 2022.

Sunday October the 3rd was the first Classics Car Meet at Classics Museum
Hamilton after the most recent Covid lock down, and just before the next one.
The morning started slowly but by 8.30 the car park started filling up.
I think some people were a bit slow off the mark and suffering from a late
night of rugby. As the morning progressed the turnout of cars was quite
exceptional with a diverse range of vehicles on show.
The JukeBox Diner car of the day went to a very nice original 1964
Sunbeam Rapier. Classics Museum cash prizes were awarded as follows:
runner-up car of the day a Holden Torana SLR500, 3rd place went to a Datsun
1200 FQ7650. The youngest classic owner went to the owner of a very nice
1993 Chevy Corvette and the furthest travelled prize was awarded to some
folks from Raglan. The Classics boot sale was also in progress and the
JukeBox Diner was doing a brisk trade on coffee and food.
Another very successful Classics Car Meet

A brilliant fine Waikato morning greeted all who attended the 1st Sunday
of the month meeting at Classics Museum. The mild Waikato weather may have
something to do with the number of cars attending as some models seem to be
breeding in the mild winter weather. Last month we had one De Lorean, this
month two, the same with Rovers and Leyland P76s.
There was a fantastic turnout of cars, around 80 in total, with several
clubs using this event as a destination or starting point for their run.
The Manukau Rod and Custom Club was one such club with a good turn out of
cars and members including Alistair Davidson who is of course Editor of the
Petrolhead magazine. Great to catch up with you Alistair.
Classics boot sale vendors were down in numbers but sales were up and
the JukeBox Diner coffees and eats were selling well.
The JukeBox Diner car of the day went to a nice 1950 Vauxhall Velox,
VIVI4N. The runner up Classics Museum cash prize was awarded to an AC Cobra
ALMAC1, with 2nd runner up a 1973 Jenson Healy 1973JH. Several other cash
prizes were also awarded during the morning including one each to the three
sets of twins, De Loreans, Rovers and P76s.
It was another very enjoyable and interesting meet with yet again a
different mix of cars turning up as seems to be the case each month.

A fine crisp frosty morning greeted everyone for the July Classics Car
Meet at the Classics Museum in Hamilton. The cool morning weather
did not dampen the enthusiasm of the classic car fraternity and as the sun
came out and the morning progressed the cars started rolling in.
The end result saw approx. 60 classics line up for the morning with a
wide range of makes and models on display. Being American Independence Day,
there was a large number of American cars in attendance.
The Mini Club also had a good number of cars on display as they were
starting a club run at 10.00am. A nice 1946 Ford Coupe was awarded the
JukeBox Diner's car of the day prize and also a cash prize for
original style patina NHP231. Furthest travelled prize went to a lady with
a very nice 1962 Oldsmobile OLDS62. Further cash prizes were awarded as
follows: 1972 Mini special PRA4SN, a 1954 Armstrong Siddeley BW8438 and a
1964 Ford Falcon Club Van NME404. All Cash prizes sponsored by Classics Museum.
The classic boot sale was again in evidence with a few goodies changing
hands and the JukeBox Diner Breakfast and Coffee going down a treat on the
cold morning.
